UMBC Model United Nations strives to educate students and the community about the topics, functions and bodies of the United Nations. Our team attends one conference a semester. The location for the conferences is New York during the Spring semester and Chicago during the Fall semester. The club is active in educational outreach to neighboring high schools and colleges by hosting several simulations each year. Course credit is available for research work in preparation for conferences (POLI 384l). The club is also an active participant each year in raising funds for UNICEF.
